Grades 6–8. For a class of 30. Who stole the cookies from the cookie jar? In this cross-curricular caper, the beloved Otis Spunkmeyer® is kidnapped, and your students must figure out who took their warm chewy cookies. Students investigate a ransom note written in Spanish, cut from several different local newspapers, that appears to have some sort of red stain on it. They piece together the rest of the crime by analyzing some white powder and soil near the note. Finally, students determine whose DNA is on the envelope the note was found in. There is also information on how to stage a trial for the culprit. Kit includes activity materials, a teacher's guide, student worksheets, casebooks, and a rubric.

Note: A microscope is needed but not supplied.
