Demonstrates how contours indicate levels of elevation on maps. A model volcanic mountain is placed in a clear plastic box. The box is marked on the outside with a grease pencil to show elevation lines, and gradually filled with water. 
 
Each set includes a 12 in. x 6-1/2 in. x 3-1/4 in. transparent plastic box with lid, 12 in. x 6-1/2 in. clear plastic sheet, 12 in. x 6-1/2 in. molded plastic model of Mt. Capulin, and a grease pencil.
